CAUSES OF DANDRUFF & HOW TO CURE IT AT HOME (HAIR REGIMEN 2)

Hello Everybody, how are you today? I hope this week has been awesome so far just as its been for me?
Am back with another hair regimen. (YAY!!!) For those that tried the last one, How did it go? Did it work?
Am very excited about this topic, because i have been questioned a lot about this and i was so glad to do some research on causes of dandruff and how to cure it.
Although, i don't have dandruff, but i don't like the feeling when i see it on a client
Not a good sight. Sorry!!!

Let's crack on, on how to deal with this irritating feeling.

Through research, i found out that dandruff  occurs on both black and white skin. It is caused as a result of the dead skin cells shedding from the scalp. This happens to everybody, it's just a little bit more rampant than the other. Sometimes, dandruff is hereditary, it could be passed on along the family tree. This condition is called seborrhea, which is an abnormal discharge from sebaceous glands. This causes the scalp to be flaky.
Hair products such as gel, too much hair grease builds up over time, which is not easy to get off and therefore causes bacteria build up which later leads to flakes.
Chemicals such as perms and dyes can burn the scalp and impair the hair follies and leaves it dry and causes a scaly effect on the scalp. Also using your fingers and comb to scratch stresses the scalp and forms bacteria. Bacteria mixes up with natural oils and causes dandruff.

CURE FOR DANDRUFF!!!
A well balanced diet and drinking over 2litres of water a day is very essential for this treatment.
There are some home made products that really works. I will advice that you try the one that is suitable for you.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Apple cider vinegar mixed with fresh lemon juice is a really good mix to rinse the hair out, before it is shampooed and styled using natural hair oils.

RAW ONIONS

As horrible as this may sound, trust me it works. I've read reviews on this and the feed back i got was really good. Blend some onions into a thick past, apply it over your scalp and hair, leave it for at least an hour and half. Wash off thoroughly, if the smell persists wash your hair with lemon juice to get rid of it.

BLACK PEPPER, LIME JUICE, QUARTER CUP OF MILK.

Mix 10 grams of black pepper powder with fresh lime juice and milk. Apply it all over the scalp and hair, leave it for like an hour. wash off with water thoroughly, and style as desired.
More also, always make sure your hairdresser sterilizes the combs and brushes used on your hair, also try using head & shoulders anti dandruff shampoo on your hair.
Thanks for stopping by to read. Please let me know how it goes and if you have any questions or a better solution? Let me know.

African Prints!!!. I LOVE SO MUCH.

Hello Blogfam, i want to share with you what i suddenly developed great love for, African print. If i could, i will wear it every day of my life. I hope to start doing that some day. I decided to do a research on its origin and where it actually came from.
From research, i found out that African prints was first imported into Africa from Indonesia in the 1800's.
It was made to show off the African tradition and culture. Back in the days, it was used primarily for events, local floral, decorations, used on persons of importance, proverbs etc.
In recent years, it has made a big name in the fashion world. Celebrities like Solange Knowles have been spotted in it. High street shops now sell them too.
I love African prints for its vibrant colours and uniqueness.
Checkout some of my pictures in African Prints. Get in touch for my Tailors details if you like (lol)
Have a great week.

WAYS TO A MAN'S HEART (1)

FRIED RICE WITH GIZZARD AND PLANTAIN MY STYLE
Hello BlogFam, how's everyone feeling today? I assume we've all heard of the popular adage that  "a way to a man's heart is through his stomach". I know this is not true with all men but you can try by adding a bit of spice too.(lol) however, this isn't just about men but for everyone.
I've featured this on a blog before, but i will love to share it with you guys too. Please follow me on the step by step guide on how to cook this "deliciouness" (lol, i will put it that way)
My friends and family can testify that i can cook fried rice even when am sleep walking. (abeg no try am ooo, that will too salt abeg) but lets see how these goes. Come along with me.
I have seen it done differently before, but i prefer this method.
Now then lets do this,
You start with washing your rice to get a little bit of the starch off it. When that is done, put some oil a little bit, not to much of the kind of oil you prefer it could be vegetable oil, olive oil or sunflower oil. i prefer to cook with sunflower oil in a pot that will be enough for the amount of people you want to cook for. Oh before i forget, have some chopped onions, cooked chopped chicken breast and scotch bonnet ready  if you like.

Tumeric (Indian Spice)

Chopped Onions and Chopped Scotch Bonnet

In process, rice, onions, chicken, scotch bonnet
Back to the oil bit, leave it to get hot abit, when this done, pour your washed rice in to the oil and stir continuously add the onions, scotch bonnet and i also use an Indian spice called Tumeric it gives it a green  colour  stir until the rice looks abit fried up, add some spices and salt to taste. Add some hot water and leave it to cook until its abit soft.
This is what it looks like with  tumeric.
The next thing, is to get your mixed veg and mixed bell peppers ready. you can use fresh ones but i prefer to use frozen, just because am lazy and can't be bothered to start the chopping. (LOL)
Mixed Peppers

Mixed Vegetables.
When you you get this ready, add this to the rice and leave it to cook for about 20 -25 minutes.

VUALA!!!!!!
Doesn't this look on point????????

GIZZARD AND PLANTAIN.
I love this, it's not the typical gizzard and plantain, i don't like it too dry i add a little bit of chopped tomatoes and onions to make it soupy.
You start by getting some chicken or turkey gizzard, whichever one you prefer. wash to get all the dirt off it. Boil it add some spices and salt to taste. When this is done grill or fry it.

This is what the gizzard looks like when it is done.

Cut some plantain out, ready to fry so that it gets cold before you mix. don't make it too brown.
Plantain.

Put some oil in a small sauce pan to heat up a bit, you then add some chopped tomatoes and chilli powder with some onions and spices to taste. leave it too cook up a bit. you will then add the plantain and gizzard and leave it to cook up a bit. Trust me, it does taste good.
This is what it looks like.

Hope you will enjoy trying this out, please let me know what you think about this and if you have an opinion, or a better way of cooking it.
Enjoy Cooking!!!!

HOMEMADE HEALTHY RELAXER!!!! (HAIR REGIMEN)

Before now, i was not keen on doing anything healthy to my hair, because its just too full and annoying but recently I've noticed some shedding and i thought i could do with a little healthy homemade mixtures. i was happy when i found out about a way to relax my hair without using any of the normal relaxers. I hate the feeling of a relaxer, because it burns my scalp and gives me headache.
I did some research and found out that coconut milk mixed with lemon juice relaxes the hair, when done on a regular basis. All thanks to Paula Begoun, author of "Don't Go Shopping for Hair Care Products Without Me. I gave it a try and i was happy with the results.
Follow me on the Journey. You can try it to

THE MIXTURE (COCONUT MILK RELAXER)
1 Can of coconut milk
1 fresh lemon
The Mxture.
squeeze out the fresh lemon and mix with the coconut milk. leave it in the fridge over night, it becomes thick and forms a paste
apply it all over your hair, cover your hair with a warm towel and put a shower cap over it and leave it for about 2-3 hours and get busy with something else. Wash off with a moisturizing shampoo and apply conditioner, rinse off and style as desired.
You can do this on a weekly basis to get your hair very straight and healthy.
The procedure. Before meets After.
EXPLANATION.
Coconut Milk is very rich in protein, iron and essential fats, which helps the hair grow and keeps it healthy. It heals the scalp form dermatitis, it  stops shedding, stops breakage, boasts hair roots, it makes the hair soft and supple, it  reduces premature graying. It is a good conditioner because it penetrates well into the scalp.
Lemon juice helps make the hair straight , it treats dandruff and hair fall

Hello Blogfam, checkout what i wore to church. It was sunny and windy. What a cold morning! but i had plenty fun  in church though. It was good in the end.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!

Yay!!! It's Sunday BlogFam. Am delighted that it is actually because, i get to dress up, go to church, sing and dance azonto.(lol) Do you know how awesome that is? Well, i know if you don't. It's a different feeling every time in God's Presence. OK, OK. am  blabbing too much right? Let me do this quickly before i dash out.
On a beautiful day in October 2010, a wonderful Client gave me a gave a Bible, not just an ordinary Bible but the T.D JAKES Woman Thou Art Loosed edition in NKJV. I loved it because it was pink (lol), i didn't really read the notes that was in it.  Recently, i was flicking through the beautiful pink pages and i came across a note that he wrote that i would like to share with us all this Sunday morning in my own expression .

I think this applies to everybody that has been hurt or been steeped upon, not just women. Its time to be free. The question is What do i do? How can i be free?
He explains that we need to actually stop pointing accusing finger and start isolating the problems because it brings healing. When you do, you don't get robbed off your happiness because, you leave the bad moments to the past.
Secondly, you let go and let God. you allow the love of God to pierce through the pain, God's love is uttermost. His love keeps us going daily, his love is perfect and will cast out fear, his love will restore every lost opportunity. You can always trust God, when you do this you have the grace to show love to people, even to those who have hurt you.
When you later get your security and peace of mind, you must not forget the love of God, its the reassurance that he's faithful. You will not remember or have flashbacks of all the pains you've had because you have greater peace and love in God Almighty
I adhere us to love always and not be scared to. it keeps us going. 1st John 4:18 says, "there is no fear in love; but perfect love ceaseth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love"
GIVE LOVE TODAY AND ALWAYS!!!
Have a wonderful Sunday blogfam, a resounding thank you to Bishop T.D Jakes. for the wonderful message.
Look out for the Outfit of the day.
Thanks for Stopping by.

Hair Care Procedures for Black Hair!!!!!

Hello my wonderful Blog Fam, am really sorry for being a little quiet today. I've been a little busy all day from doing hair for few clients to cooking my own style red kidney soup. It was super yummy, watch out for the recipe too sometime soon.
Now then to the issue of the day. I get asked a lot of questions from my clients about what's best to keep their hair healthy and growing, what products to use and if its best to have their hair natural or relaxed. So i took it upon myself to do a bit of research, to get more knowledge on what way is best.
From my research, i found that you can create a procedure that works for you. Either relaxed or natural the main goal is to achieve a healthy and growing hair. You can use my procedures, its really easy.

Shampooing and Conditioning
Black hair is very different from so many hair types and its naturally dry so avoid shampooing your hair daily. Shampoo your hair once or twice a week, when you do this use a mild moisturizing shampoo such as the mizani, cream of nature  and motions. if shampooing is done too much it can cause dryness and breakage.
After shampooing, it is very compulsory to add a moisturizing conditioner. A deep conditioning treatment is required four times a month with products rich in protein and keratin that can be left on for 30mins-1hr home time.

Products.
Besides, shampooing and conditioning your Hair. You need to apply good moisturizers and hair products to the hair. I advice that you apply natural hair oil such as almond oil, Castro Oil, Olive Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Argan Oil, Profectiv hair products are really good too. They are not just good for hair growth, but also prevent brittleness. Avoid products with Petroleum.

Styling
When styling your hair, you should not expose it to too much of direct heat, such as flat irons, curlers and pressing combs. If the hair is exposed to heat, it is likely to be dry. If you want to keep your hair straight it's advisable to wrap it when going to bed at night so that you don't need to straighten it always, if you have natural hair it's good to have protective styles on such as braids, cornrows, twists etc.

Trimming
Trimming the hair ends regularly helps the hair to stay healthy and get rid of dry and split ends. i used to think trimming was cutting off my hair (lol) but trust me it is needed. The less you do to your hair the less trim needed, if your hair is in color and heat styled always then you have to be very diligent with trimming than people who use less chemicals.

Nighttime Care
I never knew this until i did my research, that there's a special kind of scarf you wear to bed. Its best to cover your hair with slippery material like silk or satin. Wear a bonnet cap, silk satin scarf. If you don't want to cover your hair sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase. Sleeping on cotton pillowcases can rob the hair of its natural oils.

Thank you for stopping by to read, i hope i was helpful. please ask me questions
